Now is the Best Time to Buy iPad and iPhone Combo

Apple India, in partnership with Citibank, has introduced an exciting offer to shoppers on buying an iPhone and an iPad together. According to offer, Citibank customers can get up to Rs. 28,900 cash back on buying an iPhone and an iPad together.

The offer is available only in certain authorised Apple stores in India.  Moreover, not all Citibank customers can take advantage of the offer as the discount is given as cash back to the bank's credit card holders.

The iPhone-iPad combo offer went live on Friday and will be available until December 31, 2016. Customers can take up the offer to a max of four times, only two of which can be done in a month. This means customers can buy a combo of an iPhone and an iPad (with Rs. 28,900 discounts) twice in a November and twice in December. But if they've missed out on November, then they cannot take the offer four times in December alone.

Since the tender is a combination deal, the iPhone and iPad must be bought from the same store on the same day, with the same card. The cashback will be credited to the buyer's credit card within 90 days of purchase.

If the customer buys an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, cash back on iPad India are as follows:
  • iPad mini 2: Rs. 17,000 cashback
  • iPad mini 4: Rs. 17,000 cashback
  • iPad Pro: Rs. 23,000 cashback
  • iPad Air 2: Rs. 18,000 cashback
The cashback also works in reverse, which means if customers purchase an iPad, the corresponding cash back will be applied to iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus purchase.

There is an additional "instore" discount of Rs 5,900. Unlike the cashback offer, this amount will be removed from your bill directly at the time of purchase. Again, this is valid only for Citi Bank credit card holders.

Users should note the cashback will be credited to your account "through two entries", meaning that you'll get the money in two instalments.

In the initial offer of iPhone 7/iPhone 7 Plus + iPad Pro, it will have two entries of Rs 11,000 and Rs12,000 each. In the second offer of iPhone 7/iPhone 7 Plus + iPad Air 2, it will come as Rs 8,000 in the first entry and Rs 10,000 in the next one. In the final combo, the cashback will come in two entries: Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000.

The offer is available for users across select stores in all the key cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai,  Jaipur,  Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Gurgaon,  Kolkata, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Agra, Amritsar and more.

The offer is open to all credit card holders from Citi Bank, EXCEPT those who have a Citi Bank Corporate credit cards.

At the investor's conference recently, post announcement of its quarterly results, Apple's Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook said that the firm is excited about its investments in India. Cook stated that the last year has seen iPhone sales growing at a rapid pace in India. "Our iPhone sales in India went up by over 50% in fiscal 2016 compared to the year before that, and we believe we're just beginning to scratch the surface of this vast and improving market opportunity," he said.

The Apple CEO added that he is confident that he can make India as big an opportunity as China is for Apple. He emphasised that India's "very, very young population" holds tremendous advantages for the company.

"The truth is there's going to be a lot of people there and a lot of individuals in the middle class that will want to buy a smartphone, and I think we can create healthy competition for some part of those. And Given the point at which we started, even though we've been growing a lot, there's a lot of headroom in our mind.

Therefore, we're working very hard to get that chance," Cook told media and investors.
